Polianthes Tuberosa

Tuberose is a herbaceous plant of the Agavaceae family. From Mexico, it travelled to Europe in the XVII century and has long since adapted to continental climates. To conserve their sensual fragrance intact, tuberose flowers are hand-picked. In Italy, young girls were forbidden to wander around gardens where the powerful flower bloomed, for fear their intoxicating smell would rob the girls of their decency. Enthralling scent of fruit and honey, the tuberose carries the intensity of love.
